Research Interest

Dr. Hoch has seventeen years of experience performing research with undergraduate and graduate students in Belize, Canada, and the United States, on a broad spectrum of research topics related to aquatic ecology and environmental microbiology in watersheds, estuaries, and coastal marine environments. Current research involves microbial community analysis using molecular techniques, which can also be applied to environmental diagnostics of invasive species in ballast waters and insect vectors.
